Had a great dive with Sean, loved the elevator on the boat and we saw an ocean sunfish (mola mola) everyday! Would definitely dive with them again 🙂

Went on a chartered diving tour through port hardy last year. Phenomenal experience and Sean was an excellent guide (and has a great name as well!).

Sean and Shellie and their team are unreal. I’ve been so lucky that I’ve gotten to dive with them for almost a decade. Sean will do everything he physically can to help you have an amazing dive, an amazing time on the boat, an amazing day. Shellie makes sure you’re taken care of before you even get on the boat, and definitely keeps Sean in check. They make you feel so welcome, safe and ready for adventure. I can’t recommend them enough – all their outings are sheer magic with amazing experiences and accidental education. Thanks for the great times so far! See you again soon!

Excellent, we just spent a weekend up at Gods Pocket with Sean and Shellie from UB diving. Simply excellent , Sean is a brilliant captain who knows the tricky waters in that area like the back of his hand, it’s his playground! and man what a playground, clearly the Mola Mola like UB diving as much as we do, we saw these rare creatures every day! Crazy…. Look no further for an excellent way to see some of the incredible diving beneath BC waters … thanks S & S !

We first met Sean and Shelly when they had the shop in Union Bay about 15 years ago. We ending up going to Union Bay to buy a lot of our dive gear over the years. We recommend their dive company to anyone we meet that wants to dive on Vancouver Island. They have amazing customer service. Will continue to send people their way. Keep up the amazing service and dives.

Now that I’m settled after my road trip, it’s time to give some credit where credits due! This awesome wee shop, particularly Jen so to speak, got me on a dive with a guide for the following day after I’d called up to see if they were running any trips that day. She said the weren’t but would let me know if she found a guide who’d be keen to take me out for the day! And there was!! I was super stoked and appreciative of her finding me someone whilst visiting town. Andy was my dive guide and provided great chat, he was incredibly patient with me after having been out of the water for a little while and a fairly new diver to this whole dry suit thing, haha! I felt super safe and confident diving next to him and all the gear I hired was of course very reliable too. I was super sold on getting another dive in and Andy said they’d be heading out again in a couple days. I didn’t think I’d make it as I’d be carrying on with my road trip but enjoyed my day so much I changed (about the only plans I happened to make on my road trip) to make myself available for the next dive. This is where I’ve gotta shout out my next dive guide called Guy, who was just so incredible as well. He carried through with instilling in me the same confidence Andy provided and even was so kind as to get some footage for me of our dive on his own personal camera rig. I can’t thank this crew enough for providing not only a beautiful dive with some very cool things to see, but also just such great sense of comradery, and classic good diving community that this sport brings! I can’t wait to dive again with you guys one day next time I’m out on the island. Hoping for a Quadra trip, weuu! Happy diving!

I started diving back in May of 2019 and I have to say that when I go from Calgary to Courtney BC and visit Pacific Pro Dive the staff and management treat me like Royalty. When I walk into the store and view all the dive gear they have and experience the knowledge of their staff and management you will never want to leave. I have been on a couple of charters with Ron Nelson and Robyn Fyfe and the dive with the Seal Lions was one of my best experiences. It makes you never want to leave the area and it is a must to keep coming back. The courses they offer give you a wide range of advancement in the area of diving and Ron Nelson’s patience for new divers and his energy make you want to never leave the water. They are great stewards of the environment with their “Dives Against Debris” throughout the year and offer great leadership to all participants. I love coming out to their store and will always be a supporter of Pacific Pro Dive and the area.

I want to give a big Thank You to Robyn Fyfe. I was down in the Philippines and I could not locate my open water certificated. I contacted Pacific Pro Dive by email. Robyn got back to me after hours on a Sunday and located my open water certificate for me. Thank you again Robyn for taking the extra time and effort in helping me out. Great customer service!

Amazing shop and amazing staff. My girlfriend has her advanced open water and I wanted to try diving with her in the ocean and do my discover scuba diving at the same time. Unfortunately the visibility at low depth in the ocean was bad and instead of bringing me anyway, Robyn was kind enough to call my girlfriend and let her know that I wouldn’t see anything if I dove in the ocean with her, so my girlfriend went to the ocean and I went to the lake. I had an amazing experience, the staff was very kind and helpful. You can tell they’re passionate about diving. Would 100% recommend.

As a person that has a fear of open water I’m happy to write that the owners of Pacific Pro Dive on Vancouver Island finally got me out in the water and boy am I glad I finally took the plunge. Robyn and Scot are so knowledgeable in their field and their instructors are the best I’ve met. I finally feel confident in the water. We were lucky enough to see a whole whack of sea lions out on our dive and it was so thrilling! The equipment was top of the line!

Anyone who was on the fence like me definitely needs to head down to Pacific Pro Dive and talk to Robyn. Her passion on scuba diving alone will be enough to change your mind!

Top Travel Agent Alternatives in Courtenay

A travel agency is a private retailer or public service that provides travel and tourism-related services to the general public on behalf of accommodation or travel suppliers to offer different kinds of travelling packages for each destination. Travel agencies can provide outdoor recreation, arranging logistics for luggage and medical items delivery for travellers upon request, public transport timetables, car rentals, and bureau de change services. Travel agencies can also serve as general sales agents for airlines that do not have offices in a specific region. A travel agency's main function is to act as an agent, selling travel products and services on behalf of a supplier. They are also called Travel Advisors. They do not keep inventory in-hand unless they have pre-booked hotel rooms or cabins on a cruise ship for a group travel event such as a wedding, honeymoon, or other group event.

While travel agents have long been a popular choice for planning vacations, there are also several alternative options available in Courtenay. These alternatives provide travelers with greater control over their itineraries and often offer more affordable options. Here are three top travel agent alternatives that are very popular in Courtenay:

1. Online Travel Booking Platforms

One of the most popular alternatives to travel agents is online travel booking platforms. Websites such as Expedia, Booking.com, and Kayak allow travelers to search for flights, accommodations, and package deals based on their preferences and budget. These platforms provide an extensive selection of options and often offer discounts and promotions. Travelers can compare prices, read reviews, and make reservations directly on the platform, eliminating the need for a travel agent.

  • Pros:
    • Wide selection of options
    • Ability to compare prices
    • Access to customer reviews
    • Convenient booking process
  • Cons:
    • Requires independent research
    • No personalized assistance
    • No guarantee of best price

2. Travel Aggregator Websites

Travel aggregator websites, such as Skyscanner and TripAdvisor, are another popular alternative. These platforms allow travelers to search for flights, hotels, rental cars, and activities, all in one place. The websites gather information from multiple sources and present it in a user-friendly interface. Travelers can easily compare prices, read reviews, and make reservations directly on the aggregator website.

  • Pros:
    • Comprehensive search results
    • Ability to compare prices
    • Access to customer reviews
    • Simplified booking process
  • Cons:
    • No personalized assistance
    • No guarantee of best price
    • May require checking multiple websites for the best deals

3. Direct Booking with Airlines and Hotels

Another alternative to travel agents is to book directly with airlines and hotels. Many airlines and hotel chains offer online booking platforms that allow travelers to search for and reserve flights and accommodations directly with the provider. Booking directly can often lead to better deals and promotions, as it cuts out the middleman fees.

  • Pros:
    • Access to exclusive deals and promotions
    • Direct communication with the provider
    • Greater control over the booking process
    • No additional fees
  • Cons:
    • Requires independent research
    • No personalized assistance
    • May not offer as wide a selection of options as travel booking platforms

While travel agents can provide a valuable service, these top alternatives offer travelers greater flexibility, control, and savings when planning their next Courtenay adventure.
