What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I found the staff were extremely helpful and caring. I adopted Lou, the sweetest dog, excellent on the leash, house trained, no aggression, loves everyone he meets. The facility was clean and the fees are reasonable.

  2. I’m so happy with what this place does! We recently adopted 2 dogs (who we loved), but it didn’t work out.

They called to check on the dogs and I explained the situation. Today I called and my two boys are back up for adoption and I couldn’t be happier! They are the best dogs and the people at the shelter genuinely care about them.

I know my boys are in good hands and if you are looking for two very loving dogs, please go see Zeus and Thor! Such great dogs! Forever in my heart!

  3. Very clean and they take great care of the pets that are available for adoption. Large selection of both cats and dogs as well as specialty pets. Adoption process seems to be much simpler than many other places. A family member adopted two cats from our visit. I highly recommend that you stop by and check out what’s available.

  4. I adopted my pup from SPCA in 2013. I was impressed by the thoroughness if the adoption interview and the genuine desire to match the right pet with my family. Fast forward to 2023 and my dog has some new brothers and sisters and i am fostering kittens. The fostering program at SPCA is very flexible and providing a loving home to animals prior to their forever home placement is very rewarding.

  5. This is a wonderful place to adopt cats, dogs, and other smaller animals. If you’re not yet sure about adopting, you can visit with the dogs and cats. There are 4 spacious cat rooms to interact with cats and go in as you want (after applying hand sanitizer). There is a kitten room that has a limit to the number of visitors. The dogs are usually housed in individual spaces, and you can visit with them by asking a volunteer to assist. The puppy room is amazing, if there are puppies, and you can visit with them, too.
If you are serious about adopting a little kitten or puppy, you need to pay attention to the website. Schedule an appointment to meet for the particular animal you’d like. You can schedule an appointment on-site, too, but depending on the day, your appointment may be later or have to be another day.

I have been here for euthanasia for my fur baby due to having cancer and heart issues. It’s crazy that my pet doctor charges $300 and wake county has no fee. They are nice people and don’t rush you to give up your pet.

Wow. My family was throughly impressed with the level of service recd at the center. I’d seen the pet online that I was interested in and went to see her immediately. It was a Mastiff puppy. I have some doubts about that even if a mix bc I don’t see the traditional black sagging facial features but all the pups were adorable. There was a litter of 8, 4 girls and 4 boys. We actually decided on a male bc of his unique colors from the others. The process was simple and his vaccines, microchippinhg and neutering was included in a $95 adoption fee compared to $300 at SPCA. Here’s Tucker formerly Candyman.

The Director of the Wake County Animal Center, Dr. Jennifer Federico, has dedicated her entire life to helping animals. She has turned the shelter around from where it was and has weeded out adoption/rescue agencies who do not properly care for the animals. All her personal animals are rescues who are nothing shy of loving, fun, athletic animals. Most of her dogs are good citizen canines and blood donors. They are amazing with children and people of all ages. For anyone that speaks negatively against Wake County Animal Center, the Director or the staff, clearly does not know anything about them or they are one of the agencies banned from working with the shelter. Dr. Federico, you are doing an amazing job. Keep up the good work.

I recently adopted a rescue dog from the Wake County Animal Shelter and wanted to share my positive experience. From the moment I stepped foot in the shelter, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They answered all of my questions and gave me as much information as I needed so I could make an informed decision about my adoption. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Wake County Animal Shelter and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to adopt or foster a pet.

Couldn’t be happier with my decision to go through Saving Grace! This was my first time visiting the grounds, i received a very friendly welcome from both the humans and the dogs! The property is very well kept and beautiful. You can tell all the pups in their care are happy and well tended to. I went in to meet Harrison, a funky little guy with a very… unique appearance. When word got around that he had a potential adopter, so many of the volunteers and employees stopped by to tell me how great he is and how happy they are for him. It was a really nice experience and i left with a new family member! Thank you everyone at Saving Grace

I would definitely recommend adopting from or volunteering at Saving Grace. It’s a nice set up they have where the dogs are able to take shifts running around outside. You can come in with an appointment and have volunteers help you with the kind of dogs you are looking to rescue. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and you just end up wanting to adopt every dog there. They do a great job making sure the dogs are taken care of and are socialized and all of that. They are doing a great service there and I hope they can continue to do so!

Doggie heaven on earth. That’s what I would call Saving Grace’s “farm”. Happy dogs running everywhere, fabulous adoption staff working to match up pups with their furever people, and just a general serenity of the grounds makes it such a pleasant experience. I have adopted 3 dogs from Saving Grace over the years and I can’t imagine my life with out any of them. Rescue work is hard. I applaud the dedicated crew that works not only out front but the hundreds of people it takes to care for these dogs day in and day out behind the scenes. Sadly, there is a never ending train of dogs that need homes and we really need people to understand the importance of spay/neutering their animals, but Saving Grace is doing everything in their power to help the dogs live a life they may have never had. If you are looking for a new bff I strongly encourage you to check out Saving Grace NC. If you can’t adopt then I encourage you to volunteer, donate or spread the word about this wonderful organization.

Stellar. They are well organized and do great considering the dozens of people that comes through. We adopted a dog with heartworm, and they handled treatment very well. Adoption was finalized after that treatment was completed. We got a great dog that we were guided to with their help.

We adopted our boy, Ollie, from Saving Grace in January! We had a great experience (other than having to wait until his kennel cough improved, but only a few days) with adoption. Ollie was the first dog we saw and met. We immediately fell in love. They took us to a fenced off area to get to know him by himself and walk him around on a leash for a little bit. They also did a cat-test with him with the resident cat to make sure he didn’t attack cats! Ollie is the love of our life, we couldn’t be happier and luckier to have gotten such an amazing dog.
