  1. We had a wonderful experience adopting Mason (now Max). He’s a awesome dog and fun addition to our family. The staff at MVASC were super friendly and easy to work with. They answered all of our questions and slowly walked us through the adoption process.

  2. The Mission Viejo animal shelter staff is amazing. they’re super friendly and they were so helpful in finding us a new member of our family sunshine a.k.a. Revy. She is such a sweetheart of a dog so loving and gentle. Revy Has adjusted so well to her new home.   3. Good luck actually adopting a dog. They make up stories between parties trying to adopt that are false, as well as make as many excuses as possible to make it impossible to actually get the dog. Such as “apartment needs to approve” apartment approves, now you had to prove there’s no other dogs, proved, then they say your family told them things that they never said thus creating an argument between everyone to then call them and ask them why they’re making things up to then creating more lies and acting as if none of that happened while “losing” applications

  4. The staff here was AMAZING!!! Our Ginger (Dandi) was 1 of 13 amazing dogs rescued from a high kill shelter in Riverside. We brought her home yesterday and she’s going to be an amazing part of our family! They also gave me all the info I needed to get Ginger started on the right track. Appreciate what you’re doing for our dogs 🐶

  5. Blonde younger front desk employee is very rude and condescending. This center should only hire compassionate people.

    This center does euthanize as well, if they deem the dog “not adoptable” via a behavior assessment – as told by the employee working in the front.

    I will be back to hopefully help a colleague adopt the friendly dog I found as a stray soon.

    Maybe my experience will be different here the next time.

    I like this store to purchase my bunny goods. Always has Timothy hay and pellets avail.. Alot of cat n dog bowls, toys food etc

    My application for a dog was rejected because April seems to think she knows what’s better even though I have a great home to offer, a huge backyard (fully fenced), I make good money, and have been searching for a small dog to adopt for months and finally found one but April thinks my cattle dog mix she has never seen is going to be too much for this smaller dog. I am willing to put in the money for training and time and yet I was rejected. I even asked work if I could bring her (the dog) in to help with her anxiety and none of my efforts will ever reach her because of April. I feel bad for the dogs here as April seems to be a horrible matchmaker.

    I found a sweet dog in this website and I wanted to adopt her. I wanted to adopt and save this sweet dog. I filled out adopt application and I got responded on same day. We decided to meet with sweet dog and foster mom. She was very nice. I had my dog with me dogs seems to know each other. Dog was very sweet with me too. After dogs meet, we walked and asked some questions. Dogs started to play together, running around, how happy they were. She told us that I am perfectly fits to the sweet dog. I was very excited. She wanted to take a video she is playing with my dog and running around together Also they are very cute together. I have never met April and she wasn’t there to meet us. After she saw the video, she sent me the most rude, awful and insulted emails. On top of that she makes every reason of me very negative way. She was upset of my husband wasn’t there and didn’t tell her. Is that make that I am awful human being? I told her I didn’t mean and I apologized for her. My apology was nothing to her. I had a coffee mug, is that make me not serious about dog? Foster mom wishes she had a longer leash. I had a longer leash. Is that make I am not controlling my dog? When I train the dog I keep the leash short and keep close to me. It wasn’t the case that day. I can say on and on …. I am a dogs lover, I had many dogs in a past, they were all family to me. I love dogs and all dogs loves me. Nobody in my life treats me awful like April. I worry that how she is treating dogs and pets at that center. I feel very bad and sad for dogs and pets at this center. It’s not their fault being there. All dogs and pets deserve to go forever loving home. April needs to learn how to treat people nicely and respectful. It’s a Customer Service. I am still thinking of sweet dog and I want to adopt her. But I can’t because of April. It’s terrible.

    I give this organization a 1 star because they make it incredibly hard to adopt small or medium sized dog. First, you can’t see a dog without filling out an application and then you have to be approved to be able to set up an appointment to see 1 specific dog. My applications have been rejected twice for trying to see a puppy due to the fact that I didn’t already have another dog in my home for my the puppy to play with. They will reject you if you live in a spacious apartment and don’t have a yard for the small dog. At this point I don’t think they care to find these poor dogs living in shelter or with foster parents an actually good loving home. You have to either agree to adopt two dogs or move to a house just to adopt any dog. I think the people running this organization should be ashamed of themselves for rejecting tons of potential loving homes for these animals.
