What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I came here to train while visiting Las Vegas and couldn’t be happier about my experience. The staff, teachers, and students, were very friendly and welcoming, the school is large with tons of mat space, and the environment is very clean. If I lived in Las Vegas this would definitely be my school, and anytime I come for a visit I’ll be dropping in.

  2. I love when I have an opportunity to visit Drysdale’s anytime I am in or near Las Vegas, this place awesome. Prof. Robert Drysdale is a wealth of knowledge, very experienced grappler & martial artist, and a great coach with an awesome fight IQ. His academy is very spacious and beautifully set up. Clean place, and awesome staff. I finally got to meet “Cammy” (staff), she has been helping me out a ton with Gi & other items to purchase prior to my arrival, and was greeted very warmly. Everyone should visit this place, try it out, then get plugged in. Jiu-Jitsu is more than just a sport, it is a way of life. Jiu-Jitsu can give you options when in a possible sketchy urban environment, it can give possibly give you the tools to survive an altercation, which is the reason you should also join their “striking” class to supplement your BJJ for those possible “real life” encounters in a confined space scenerio. As for me, BJJ helps me mentally, physically, & spiritually, to deal with the stresses of everyday. I am a US Army veteran, and it helps me channel my stress elsewhere and gives me a reason to keep fighting the good fight.

  3. We’re a traveling couple, from Concepcion, Chile; purple and blue belts. A friend of ours pointed us in their direction. They invited us to train and treated us with a kind, playful attitude and hardcore rolls. Just the right balance. We were not able to meet Robert but his students and instructors transmitted this awesome vibe, no BS, just dedicated training, humility and reciprocal intensity. Felt welcome and challenged at the same time. You guys are welcome to come on over to Chile, anytime.

  4. My son is gaining not only experience in jujitsu, but self discipline in other aspect vets of his life. We love it here!

  5. Great staff, the coaches are comfortable and confident. Great techniques! Coach Marcel is patient and full of knowledge, my 14 yr son really enjoys Drysdale jiu jitsu

This is a very kid and family friendly JJ gym where they are training little savages. I do attend on a regular basis and they are like a family to me, there is a bond between the team mates and we are cool to new comers and visitors. There are different levels/belts therefore there is a wide variety to train and roll with on a daily basis. Normally everyone is open to roll with me even though I am a white belt haha There are a dozen of other gals that regularly attend this gym so it’s not male only, there will always be a girl to team up with to drill.

Odins Halls, is such a great gym it’s more then that when you sign up you gain access to a family you never new you needed. You’ll learn and get in great shape. On top of that Steve the gyms black belt and owner is amazing at instructing and is personable. For example, I broke my hands yes both my hands out side of the gym, and Steve has kept in contact with me sense I have been out. I’d highly recommend this gym to anyone. IF YOU ARE THINKING OF SIGNING UP, JUST SIGN UP YOU’LL LOVE IT. Also this gym is Law Enforcement friendly you’ll get great rolls great conversations and meet some damn cool people !

My son has been with Odins hall for almost 5 years. The level of confidence he has earned from this gym is amazing. Coach Steve has always taken time to help him overcome the insecurities and created a love for the sport. Gym is always clean and welcoming

If you live in the Los Vegas area and are looking for a Jiu Jitsu school to train at then look no further. Odin’s Halls has kids & adult programs that are top notch. Steve Ficca (head instructor & owner) and I started training jiu jitsu at the same time earning our first stripes on our white belt on the same day over 15 years ago. Since then I have witnessed Steve develop in to a highly skilled grappler & coach. What he has created at Odin’s Hall is truly remarkable. The energy and atmosphere of the school is family friendly, focused, and fun. His athlete’s are consistently winning tournaments and that is a testament to Steve’s dedication to the sport & art. As a gym owner myself I look to Steve as an example in martial arts community on how to run a successful program. If you’re on the fence about trying a class this is your sign to contact Odin’s Hall…NOW! (you will be so happy you did)

I have been going here since March of this year. Wow it’s been an amazing journey!!! Great experience so far. Coach Steve and Coach Richey and Coach Mike and Coach Brett are all amazing coaches. There are other coaches here too who are equally great coach Tristan wrestling and Judo Sensei! They are all highly trained and highly experienced in their art of violence! They are all willing to impart knowledge and experience in the most humble and understandable way to everyone! Beginners with zero training and grapplers with 20 + years of experience are all here learning, teaching, engaging! This place is so good I even signed up my son who is 7, and he absolutely loves it. There are so many great things to say about this place! I feel like this review wouldn’t do Justice! What gym is open 7 days a week??? Open mat everyday and on the weekend! There are so many great things to say about this place. Take a fundamental class! I loved this place so much I couldn’t stop going, I had to go everyday. And now I go on my great days and even on my bad days. It’s become like my second home! The family I never knew I needed or didn’t have. Everyone here is learning something, working towards something. Come here is you want to work, if you want to learn techniques that actually work, and if you want to be a part of the wolf pack family. Come here is you are willing to learn. Come here if you need to build your confidence. Come here if you need something to do instead of run, play videos games, and sit on the coach. Come here to train! Learn! And become the best version of yourself!!

I came for a free session to see if I like the training and I do the kids have physical contact which is important. The young instructor is actually really good, he treats them respectfully and in a manner where they won’t do any drama. They won’t over an entire sequence. We will be signing the youngling up. We read the negative review and reply and the way the owner addressed the issue directly is a big reason why I am joining. My advice come and do an intro class, see that it is real with good people and sign up if you like don’t if you don’t or your child is not ready. For me my kid must understand to defend himself especially in Las Vegas. I like this place. It is no Lifetime fitness but I don’t see any winning belts their either. I do here.

Signed my son up for a year membership. Coach Dylan and coach Darren are great. My son loves them but he is afraid of the owner from the way he’s seen him yell at other kids over silly things. Been coming here for about 7months. My son did get a fungal infection the second week here from borrowing their boxing gloves so by the next week I got him his own pair. The other day the owner came in telling us(parents) about where we should/shouldn’t park talking about he’s told us over and over and this was honestly the first time myself and any of the parents there at the time had heard about it. We went out to go move the cars while the kids were in class, we didn’t realize some of the kids(under 6yo) ran out behind us chasing the cars; it was concerning that they weren’t stopped by the owner or his staff at the entrance since they knew why the parents were stepping out. Also, he could’ve been more professional in the way he let us know. I do feel he could have a better approach when dealing with the younger kids as sometimes it’s clear he’s irritated. Lastly it’s ridiculously hot. Not sure if the AC doesn’t work or if they choose not to turn it on but it’s over 100F outside. It heats up inside the building and the 42” commercial fan only does so much in such a large building. The kids are running back and forth in their class and it’s just too hot in there that after class my son says he feels nauseated. For the price we pay here wish they’d at least turn on the AC

Great class would highly recommend! Informative instruction and attention to help students in class. Facility is really nice and big! I’m experienced in Krav from another city and really enjoyed this place and would definitely attend regularly if I was in town.

I joined up with them back in July and truly enjoyed every single minute of every class. You will learn extremely useful techniques that will be applicable to real life situations… The instructors will work you like a dog – Ive seen a few people have to take a knee or relieve themselves from training… I was in extremely good shape before the classes and found myself challenged to the point of almost passing out in my first few Krav classes. Sadly for me, I felt I need more time to dedicate to this kind of practice, with me having too much going on with work and school, I have to pull back at least for a year until schools done, but I will return to them as soon as I graduate. These guys are awesome, and will treat you like family. Also, I know I see the review about the owner, but he is honestly one of my personal favorites – Donovan is real with it. Which, tough love is what we need in this.. Your going to MMA classes.

My first time coming in today. Was invited by my boy Nick P and wasn’t really sure what to expect.  Tired out the Muy Thai class @630. We worked on some low kicks, jabs, jab combos and it was intense in a great way.  The cardio I got from it was amazing. The coaching, instruction and on the spot coaching made me feel real good. Everyone received feedback from the coach. Donavon Britt, the Founder and Chief Instructor, was our coach for the class.  Great knowledge and will boost your confidence quickly. They offer a ton of classes, day and night.  And I would highly recommend anyone looking for a great place to learn and grow to come check this place out.
