What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. Quite possibly the best restaurant I have ever been to. Me, my brother and my fiancee came here while we were in town for a convention. The service was impeccable and the champagne delicious. We had escargot and pate trio for starters and a nice plain salad before dinner. I had the steak frites and it was cooked perfectly with an amazing sauce. My brother had a duck / sausage dish that was like a casserole and my fiance enjoyed the Pot au Feu and it was simply outstanding with amazing meats and phenomenal broth. The owner even came by to ask how we were liking our meal. I’d give this place six stars if I could.

  2. Now I understand why Julia Childs loved Pot au Feu so much. This restaurant is the next best thing to dining in Paris, France. From the French Onion cheese melting over, the large portion of Patè (can be shared with 4 ppl), to the rich in flavor entrees, and ending with one of their famous mousse dessert, everything is as it should be for the best French cuisine experience here. Take the time to look at all the French decor around the restaurant too. And I save the best for last. Thank you to the whole Pot au Feu staff for the best French dining experience by far.

  3. Bob Burke has kept this place in tip top shape. I remember eating in the salon years ago as a child, but it won’t take me long to return. Our server was magnificent and even though I burned a menu (ooops!)she assured me that everyone does it- which is the true.

  4. Pot au Feu is by far the best French cuisine in Rhode Island. I’ve been going eating here since the early 2000s and highly recommend it to anyone who loves French cuisine or is just curious. The atmosphere is very nice. While it’s not super spacious – you have a wonderful personalized experience with your dining party and do not feel cramped. The service is superb; you are guaranteed an attentive, knowledgeable server who can help you navigate the menu. The food menu offers a wide variety of choices from house specialties to classics; the drink menu is impressive with special cocktails. I highly recommend Pot au Feu to anyone interested in fine dining at a French restaurant in an enjoyable, quaint setting.

  5. Been going to Pot au Feu for 30 years. Excellent country French food, awesome staff and the owner greets everyone. The cassolet is excellent. Everything is very good. Don’t miss the snails. The salad is what it should be.

I had a grilled eggplant panini and it was great. I loved it. It comes with a salad or fries. The salad is small, but tasty. The staffs are so nice and happy, and the environment of the place is amazing for lunch! I’ll go back there definitely.

Didn’t taste the love in the food. Extremely average sandwich and salad. Good price.

Work right around the corner from here. I like their turkey breast with Swiss sandwich. Big sandwich and usually I can only eat half. Comes with Asian cuc salad. That’s pretty sweet. I prefer less sugary but it’s still ok.

This is not a polite suggestion. I demand that you order the breakfast burrito. It’s as delicious as it is attractive. Staff is fantastic

Great local spot in Providence that has become a go-to lunch choice for me. The 1/2 soup/salad/or sandwich lunch deal is the best and I never leave dissatisfied.

What a great place. The folks working there were super nice and spent time talking with a local elderly man which was very nice to see. Lots of regulars coming in and they knew all the orders. Coffee was good and breakfast sandwiches were great. Highly recommend. Wish I was staying longer ti try more items they had listed.

Amazing service and food. The everything bagel with lox is very good as are the breakfast sandwiches. Prices are phenomenal considering the food. The girls at the front are beyond friendly and remember orders and work very quickly to get everything out.

I had one of their signature sandwiches, I believe it was the French Connection. Taste was grate. I also ordered one of their smoothies which said 100% fruit but come in a syrup form which I highly disliked for one I honestly wish they would actually have fruits cut up to blend which would make a rather more pleasant taste. Syrup, ice and water is just not what I’m looking for.

A great place for a quick sandwich / sub, especially if you’re about to board a train. Fantastic speciality coffees ( I had a lavender latte), and tasty sandwiches (I had a basic caprese with avocado / jalapeños).
