2 months agoI mean, who doesn’t love a good bulk purchase. My go tos are the two pack paneer, eggs, rotisserie chicken, 18 count protein shakes, and obviously the free samples.2 weeks agoFood service needs attention, needs people to work. It gets overcrowded on weekends, very long lines, and the kiosk employees don’t communicate well, no sign for the mobile order. After waiting more than 10 minutes they tell you that is the phone order kiosk and you have to start over on another line.a week agoSick and tried of trying to get around the the groups of families that came to eat. The whole family stand around blocking access to the isles just waiting to get a morsle of food. So completely irritating! You all need to put the taste a morsle carts in an out of the way location,in order for actual shoppers to easily access the isles and products they came to purchase.a month agoI’ve been in customer service for 15+ years, and the hospitality is horrible. We’re all aware you can’t check out without a membership there. They treat you as peasants as soon as you try to walk in without showing your membership card. It’s disappointing. We’ll continue to shop at Rosedale where we feel welcome and appreciated.a month agoPharmacy staff upfront is quite short with customers. Often perceive that they’re too busy to help you pick up a rx. It’s not a one off but pretty regular and not just myself, I’ve talked about this with neighbors. They don’t realize that selling filled scripts is part of their duties as clerks/cashiers. Quite off putting since the internal rx staff is awesome. I want to put two names here but I won’t. Let’s see if this changes in the near future! ***Costco loyal customer.

This a busy store. The line to pump gasoline is, most of the time, a 30-minute wait. The store doesn’t have articles that can be found in different locations. The snack bar needs a lot of cleaning. Restrooms are getting a bit cleaner than before. I love Costco, but I hope they can improve my visit experience and all customers. The staff are not as friendly. I missed the guy singing at the exit door, and smiling all the time for many years. The bakery staff are friendly and willing to help.

The Costco here in Bakersfield, CA is overall amazing. The gas station is always full and it’s always at least a 20 minute wait. Plenty of parking. It gets very crowded, but the staff do very well in managing the chaos. Despite being crowded, the lines in the store usually go by very quickly. The bathrooms are usually very clean. The snack bar is usually a little understaffed and takes a while, but the pricing is very fair and the quality of the snacks is great. Costco was also one of the few companies that did not raise prices on toilet paper and eggs when they were going through shortages. Overall great place to get groceries and to eat.

My daughter inadvertently failed to scan one item at the self-checkout, although she believed she had done so with Jessica’s assistance. Understanding our mistake, Jessica informed us that the item in question hadn’t been paid for and suggested we proceed to the side to rectify the situation. I complied without issue, as I understood the necessity of resolving any unintentional oversight.
However, while waiting on the side to pay for the item, I couldn’t help but notice that Jessica seemed to exhibit inconsistencies in her approach with other customers. It appeared as though she either overlooked certain individuals’ baskets or allowed them to pass through despite discrepancies in their purchases. This led me to believe that she may have been singling out my daughter and me based on our race or for some other unidentified reason.
To compound my disappointment, Jessica displayed an unfortunate attitude when I apologized for the oversight and explained that I believed my daughter had scanned all the items. Instead of listening to my explanation, she rudely interrupted me and abruptly grabbed my basket, stating that she would pull it to the side while instructing me to proceed to the designated payment area. Her actions not only embarrassed me but also made me feel as though I were being accused of intentionally stealing an item, which was far from the truth.
It is disheartening to encounter such behavior from a staff member, especially considering the reputation that Costco has cultivated for exceptional customer service. I firmly believe that Jessica requires retraining on how to interact respectfully and professionally with customers. Consistency in treatment is crucial, and no customer should feel targeted or singled out during their shopping experience.
In light of this incident, I intend to share my experience with others on platforms such as Yelp and communicate my concerns to the headquarters of Costco. I hope that my feedback can contribute to the improvement of customer service standards and prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
