- Reviews:Was going to get some mollies this last weekend, noticed that a few seemed to be unhealthy. A dude who claimed he was the manager simply said “this isn’t my department, so it’s not my problem”. Wow dude, you hate your job that much you can’t even listen to me just trying to point something out…needless to say, I didn’t buy any fish, and never plan to again from the “not my problem” store.By Robert Fields (in the last week)Ask for Gretchen. She is the sweetest gal. Takes good care of our Bohdi boy! Goes above and beyond. He’s always so happy leaving here.By Donnelle Treadway (3 months ago)They have a awesome selection of fish! I was so excited to see they had a royal pleco and reasonably priced to boot! All of their fish looked healthy and in a good price range. The manager was also super nice and very helpful! She was very knowledgeable and the fish and when we couldn’t find the cat food in stock that we wanted she helped us get the best replacement she could!By Lindsay Scheafer (11 months ago)Went in quickly to grab a reptile tank and noticed the one leopard gecko they had in there was sick and starving. Extremely skinny, tail was no bigger than a pencil and he was breathing super shallow. I also noticed a frog that was upside down and not breathing. They clearly are not taking care of their animals.By Daniele O’Toole (2 months ago)Love the Springfield, il location the staff were amazing to George Albert II, its not that im afraid of what will happen with me, but him being with others and his trust issues on his end. From the worst day of his life to the day I found him on the streets, to my scared puppy to an amazing man, thank you for treating him with amazing love. I know he was tough as nails, but u took great love with him.By Helene Lauzier-Meyer (2 months ago)

- Reviews:Please be advised, this place and its staff are wonderful Greatest experience ever with my dog went today for vaccines. Keep up the great work you are doing ????By Michael Eimer (a month ago)They have taken care of all of my feral cats! Love going there. If it wasn’t for them my cats wouldn’t be around, and they would have over populated. THANK YOU FOR CARING ABOUT ANIMALS ❤By Starry Sky6794 (2 months ago)My 10 year old Chihuahua, Tinkerbell, had to have emergency surgery 48 hours ago for what the Dr. found was pyo. The staff at the APL took wonderful care of my best friend and treated us both with the utmost respect. They saved her life and mine because I am definitely not ready to say goodbye to my best friend so young. We have a lot of years left together!! I can’t thank the Dr. and staff enough for what they did for both of us. God bless you all because you most surely blessed us!By Kathleen Bessie (2 months ago)Looking for two cats. Roommate had a gray tortoise kitty who passed away from cancer. So we want to adopt and share our love. They were really friendly, answered all our questions. I have been going to Pet Smart for years I have a toy poodle. Yesterday she was groomed by Rachel. She did the best job! I loved it!! I will be scheduling with Rachel from now on! Thank you so much Rachel!!
Went there tonight to use their curbside service. Called and told them we were here and she said I’ll be right out with it. Over 15 min went by…… I went inside and immediately saw one employee just standing there. Another employee the girl at the register had just finished her customer and immediately got her phone out of her pocket and got on it. Told her who I was how long I had waited and that I had been told it would be right out and it had been well over 15 min. No apology she just checks my name hands me my order and that’s it. Really? Not friendly or polite just anxious to get back to her phone. Very poor customer service. Can’t see much reason to go back there. I can get from Amazon or Chewy for same or less price and don’t have to put up with indifference from employees who clearly don’t value me as a customer or my business.
I’m not sure why, but I feel like most of the people who work here don’t realize that customers expect you to be knowledgeable and want to help them. A lot of people are wanting advice on how to add or change environments or get ready for a new pet, whether it’s a bird, fish or reptile, etc. I have been here many many times, and it’s always something that’s off. Either the associates working don’t care, they’re goofing off, no one’s around to help, they’re clueless when it comes to answering your questions… like it’s just a paycheck to them. When in reality, you’re going into a pet store. Often times, people know exactly what they’re looking for, but also many times people are coming in unsure with questions and hopes that the people working at a PET STORE, will be able to help them. I blame corporate, they will hire anybody to get spot filled, but they should really focus on hiring people specified with knowledge on care and maintenance of the pets you provide. I remember a time when there were such associates, especially in the fish area. But I guess those people have gone. Which I don’t blame them, the overall way it’s ran is like even the leadership aren’t sure what they’re doing. If you shop here and have questions, best bet is to do some research beforehand like I do. Just a quick google search and you’re already more of a pro than the very people who operate the pet store. It’s sad. Good luck!
Great people and very helpful with plenty of products for my dog.
The employees are always pleasant and willing to help. They have the best selection of cat food in probably 50+ mile radius.
