a week agoMake sure you arrive before 10:30. Yes, they supposedly close at 11 but they start locking up and blocking off the entrance doors at 1030. So you have to be persistent and scoot in via the Exit doors if you need that last minute carton of eggs, or anything for that matter.But be sure to be out by 10:50 or else your stuck with just two slow self checkout registers. As the cashier is already shut down too. Then again, with them limiting it to like 30 customers by shutting the doors at 1030, I guess that it’s okay.
a year agoThe outside of the store is very clean. The attendants are hard at work picking up baskets in the parking lot. As I enter the store I notice how clean it is. And at this hour there’s not a lot of people.7 months agoVery nice Kroger. Clean, neat, well stocked. Not too crowded. The carts don’t suck. I’m going to start shopping at this Kroger instead of the North Suffolk one.2 months agoThe store is great but the customers, if you are wheelchair bound and have a ramp on your vehicle, good luck finding a place to park. Almost every handicap spot, they were parked half on the ramp access. (Slashed painted part) no room for anyone who needed it.And the parts that are alloted to go to and from the vehicles without walking in traffic, they were packed with carts and scooters left. I couldn’t get through with my cane.
a year agoNice store, quite large superstore they have just about anything you need, they had some good prices on their weekly specials, the customer service was nice and very helpful!

3 months agoNot sure what you guys are putting in your balloons or the method in which you do it, but great job 👍🏼 I bought this balloon on March 31st, 63 days ago. It’s still going strong. I really don’t know what else to say, I’m impressed.3 weeks agoI don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews of this store, I’ve always had good service when I’ve shop at this particular store. I especially want to give a shout out to Rod who always helps me out with the handicapped scooters. He always makes sure that I get one and that it’s in working order. You don’t know what that means to a disabled person. Thank you Rod for your kindness and your help! It’s very much appreciated!!a month agoStore itself was very clean and offered a wide variety of foods & products – 5 stars for the store. However, the reason I provided a 2 star overall rating was because of the younger lady working at the CS desk having little to no customer resolution skills. I had presented her with a receipt for pricing discrepancies and she did not offer to have the items price checked but instead picked up a flier and advised me that C4 energy drinks were the same as RedBull therefore the pricing was accurate, I pointed out the fact that they are different brands/manufacturers but she wasn’t understanding and kept saying it’s 2 for $5. Conversation occurred around 8PM and additional training should be provided to this employee2 months agoMy spouse and I are retired veterans and just now…today… 17 June at the self checkout…..was the first our military retired IDs were not accepted ever. The girl initially said we need to show an ID with our date of birth. When we showed our IDs… she said we dont accept those…. Store policy… sorry.We did show our drivers license but its the point…. I disagree with this policy. We are 60!!!!
a year agoUpdate: it smells of rotting meat every time myself or my husband has gone in. Clearly a quality issue here. That wine was there before I got to check out and was still there when I left. Nobody seemed concerned with cleaning it up or ensuring it didn’t spread to where people were walking. Went in last night, 9/1, to get some essentials after moving into our house. Had just over $200 in items when I went to check out. No open registers, except the self check-out. Walked up and asked the young lady if there were any open registers to which she replied no. I had 43 items that I ended up having to scan and bag myself while 3 young “workers” stood watch over the self check-out. The young lady seemed to think it was pretty funny since she kept snickering and smiling in my direction. When I was just about done, I look over to see a young man on the register checking a few people out. You think the young lady, or one of them could have offered to open a register? Apparently not. So Kroger pays workers to stand around hanging out while they expect you to scan and bag your own cart, no longer a choice. Moving forward, I’ll venture a little further to another grocery chain.

This is a large grocery store with many sections contained inside including a deli, hot food area, cheese counter, butcher, and bakery.
The store was clean and fairly well organized with a good selection.
The prices are a little higher than some places, but the prices are competitive, especially if you consider the selection and layout of the store. In my option, the store is worth a few cents more.
The negative is the wait time to check out. There are many self checkout options, but none of the self check are conducive to a large purchase.
This Kroger’s located near Battlefield in Chesapeake is one of their larger stores. I was surprised they were more expensive than Harris Teeter (also owned by Kroger’s). The produce looked good today but I’d was a bit pricey. I noticed the prepared salads were overpriced but the soups in the refrigerated section were comparable. The potato salad and slaw section was almost 😅 empty but today is the first warm day we’ve had in May 2022. This location is pretty well equipped. I prefer the location on Mount Pleasant and Centerville but I will certainly go to either when I’m in the area.
Your cashier Selena has the most nasty attitude I know when I did customer service I always try to have a positive uplifting attitude even though I had a rough day tossing my groceries in the bag like I was getting them for free. Probably won’t come back because I do not want Selena to handle my groceries the way she did ever again oh my yogurt have dents in them because she was just tossing them in the bag
I like this store a lot. Wherever I need any kind of cheese, this is where I go. The folks who work in the cheese section are always helpful. They we let you taste a simple if you want to know how it tastes. For me, I have more choices to work with besides all the process food. Hands down the best store to shop in.
I love stopping by this Kroger and have been coming by for many years! It is always well-stocked and full of many solid deals!
