a month agoBeautiful park with lots to do! The park workers were very friendly & informative. The bathrooms were like any typical state park bathroom. Bugs are in there of course, but the restrooms are decently clean. The RV sites were easy to get into with lots of space.2 months agoOnly showed up for the day, beautiful place for a hike. Only downside was it had been raining recently so the river-side trail was far too muddy to go all the way. The other smaller trail was still good to explore, however. Make sure you keep track of the weather if you are coming.4 months agoWhat a great state park! This is a state park based around the historic mission and other historic structures. I love that there are very good bike/walking trails that enable you to reach the mission, the river, the Presidio, and the small town of Goliad, all from the campground in very manageable bike rides. The campground is well laid out – all sites are pull through, and each site is very roomy. Good space between sites. I’m not a history buff at all, so the park was a very pleasant surprise.3 months agoThis is a beautiful park. It’s a great place to learn about Texas history. The Mission Espíritu Santo and attached museum are worth walking through to learn about the Native Americans, Spanish Explorers, Missionaries, Texian Soldiers, and Settlers that walked this area. The park staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.a month agoI did not catch her name but there is a wonderful park ranger full of enthusiasm and information. $4 adult entrance fee, parking included. We did not walk the trail (estimated 15 minutes) due to mosquitoes and heat. 2 trails were closed due to flooding. There were people biking. Be mindful of heat and bugs. Did not camp there but there are facilities, you need to reserve and pay on the state park website.

2 months agoMy husband & I loved walking through the museum areas & the Chapel was one of the prettiest we have ever seen. 2 bus loads of teenagers showed up while we were on the grounds and it was impressive how the historical tour guides handled them. The sweet lady behind the counter that greeted us made us feel very welcome. We are so happy that we visited. Great video to start out the tour too.a year agoWhat a wonderful visit we had here. It’s amazing to walk through a piece of history and to learn about it the people who settled in the area. It’s better than any history book!3 months agoI visited for the reenactment weekend and it was fantastic. Inside the grounds were period correct tents and many reenactors were eager to interact with the visitors. Saturday night featured candle light tours and history lessons. Sunday included the mock executions of the prisoners and Col. Fannin and a memorial service at the monument.Overall it was an outstanding program.a year agoWe did not go into the Presidio but Zaragoza’s birthplace museum. It was well done inside with the exhibit/graphic design. However on a hot summer day and at the end of our trip I’m afraid to admit our attention span was short, which can happen to most people, so do make the stop but keep these factors in mind!5 months agoExcellent!! We loved staying in the quarters and having the grounds to ourselves after hours. What a great place to unplug and dive into some fascinating Texas history!

This park was so well maintained and we really enjoyed the views! I would highly recommend a stay here. The bathrooms were very nice, the best I’ve used at a state park.
Saw this on TV and wanted to go. My wife brought me here for my birthday and I’m glad she did. Beautiful sunny day. The fishing pier was all rebuilt and nice to walk out on. They have great rates for camp sites so we’re already planning another trip.$5 per person was a good deal.
Nice site 131. Loved it! Very peaceful. Will return except for those pesky mosquitos but we used fogger and was good. Went to fulton mansion about 10 minute drive. Very informative. Kids actually liked it. Also stopped by grandma b for ice cream, very reasonably priced and big scoops. Nice time
Quiet and peaceful, great fishing in the morning and evening at the pier. The best baits to use are shrimp and crab. The park is clean and maintained well. We just left there and are already planning to go back next month. This park is dog friendly, and restrooms and shower rooms are clean as well
We had a beautiful 5 day stay at this park. Bay front sites are wonderful. Great staff and clean facilities. We will be back!
