3 months agoMediterranean Herb Atlantic Salmon and muffins – Banana Nut, Blueberry & Chocolate Chip are our Aldi’s staples. They are just so good!We also get the microwaveable less-than-a-dollar pack of the frozen mixed vegetables.
2 months agoThey run out of things faster than they can restock! Especially things like Eggs, Olive Oil, Greek Yogurt etc. But I know this going in, so it becomes an adventure!! The Aisle of Shame here has neighborhood specific things so it’s always fun to walk through. Produce is also hit or miss in terms of ripeness and freshness, but that’s also not a real problem. I know going in that this needs to be used very quickly. They’ve started offering frozen Indian food now, although selection is very limited.a month agoThis store has really gone down hill in the last five months. Always empty shelves. Today there was a open package of ground Turkey on the shelf and multiple French green beans packages on the shelf that were slimy and old. Out of frozen blueberries . Out of broccoli. Out if Greek yogurt. People stocking but empty shelves everywhere. It wasn’t like this at the beginning of the year and when it first opened this was one of the nicer locations in chicago. Not any more.a week agoAlso had great prices and quality items. Their organic prices can’t be beat. They do carry some brand name items2 months agoThis is a lifesaver store. It’s next to the SLOWEST bus in Chicago, the 56 Milwaukee bus. They have meats, cheeses, wine, Cherry-man Cherries, fruits, breads, veggies. They have everything that you need. The only problem that I have with the store is some of the customers. They leave the restrooms filthy and without soap. Other than that problem, it’s a good shop.

a month agoStore is very organized and well stocked. Floors are clean and the parking lot is filled. The patrons are very pleasant toward each other. The lines at check-out flowed quickly.3 months agoI love me some Aldi fresh fruit strawberries, Cherry was on sale 2.99lb very sweet3 weeks agoMy mom and I stopped by the Aldi store number #66 and the cashier Kearra refused to honor your “Twice As Nice” policy because I did not have my receipt for four items that had not been used but they spoiled. The items were a cantaloupe, spinach, mini avocados and cauliflower.Kearra initially she told me to put my credit card in but then she said never mind and she told me to remove it. After the transaction was complete I noticed that she didn’t apply the credit to the other items that I purchased which came out to be $52.45.
I asked her why and she stated that because I didn’t have my receipt so she just did an even exchange. Then she proceeded to point to a sign that allegedly stated the policy and she asked her co worker Ms. Love to show me the sign however, the sign did not state that a receipt was needed for them to honor your “Twice As Nice” policy. She proceeded to get loud in front of other customers and she had a line at her register so all of the customers heard her. I told her that she should’ve applied the store credit to my current purchase or, she should’ve given me a gift card. Her coworker co-signed with her stating because I didn’t have my receipt they could only give me an even exchange. I immediately called customer service when I got in my car but she kept placing me on hold for 15 minutes so I hung up and I called back when I got back home and I filed a formal complaint. According to ALDIs customer service department, she was supposed to give me an ALDIs gift card but she didn’t. I’m looking forward to the regional manager calling me because I should not have to be subjected to this type of behavior in the black neighborhood ALDIs. I never have a problem when I return produce in the white communities but it’s always at this 6621 location and at the location on 83rd Street where they have black cashiers and managers. The Twice As Nice Policy should be the same policy across the board at all of the store and not when they pick and chose for it to be in effect. For all that I know, the cashiers could be keeping the ALDIs give cards or cash for themselves if customers aren’t aware of the Twice As Nice Policy.
4 months agoThis is a nice store. They usually have what I need. It’s neat and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Great store!2 weeks agoUsually well stocked and great service in morning. I come b4 noon.I shopped once at 2 pm and it was horrible – long check out lines, short on supplies, rude people .

This my go to grocery store for a couple of years. Aldi’s prices are cheaper than walmart. The items are good. But many times if an item is out of stock, it takes quite some time to restock.
Pretty nice aldi. They have the standard low prices you expect. The location is convenient for many by Loyola and the red line. There’s parking. Only issues are 1. No self checkout so really long checkout lines and 2. Tons of things are out of stock. Like more empty shelves than most other aldi locations.
Its usually full of unpleasant customers who intentionally try to hit you with your cart, but the prices are good, the cashier’s are nice and efficient, and it’s typically pretty clean. They do sometimes overcharge you for weighed produce and are often out of certain products.
Overall it’s a good store, better when you can avoid influxes of customers.
Such a lovely Aldi right near Rogers park in Edgewater. It is not huge but has everything you will need. The staff are very kind and helpful. Their prices generally are better than most grocery places. Read the ingredients. I highly recommend this place for those on a budget.
So, I do like Aldi. You can keep on a budget pretty well. The stars removed is because I r gone to the Aldi multiple times and had it not just be understocked, but practically barren. It leaves me going to target for pretty hiked up prices for the stuff I couldn’t get at the Aldi.
