- Reviews:I had the best customer service experience ever today from Dane!! My boyfriend and I came in today looking to possibly get a hamster. Dane was extremely patient, showed us so many options, and let us hold several guinea pigs, hamsters, and mice. He genuinely wanted to help find the best pet for us, and find the best homes for the pets. He was so knowledgeable about every animal and answered every question we had. After we settled on getting a mouse, he went above and beyond walking around the store with us showing us the best options for housing and food, and helped us save with a discount plan at checkout! I could not recommend this store enough, make sure to ask for Dane’s help and you’ll be set!! It’s so comforting to be helped by someone who cares just as much about the animals as the people adopting them. Lepord geckos in very poor condition, stuck shed, and dropped tails. Crickets roaming around enclosure( bite risk) and calcium sand for substrate (impaction risk). Many other animals in poor conditions as well. Extremely sadBy K Dupont (in the last week)Very rude staff. My 20 year old daughter practically left in tears tonight after the way she was treated by the lady in the fish department. After leaving her waiting for about 35 minutes to get two fish (because she was trying to make herself look busy by poking through some of the tanks, pretty sure she just didn’t wanna be bothered) She finally gave my daughter some of her time and got out the two fish she wanted and brought them to the register.By Gem Luciano (5 months ago)I am very disappointed with this Petco. Made many appointments and they were always canceled finally took him today after getting his shots somewhere else. While I was by his side then the groomer Tarah was OK with the dog when I left to buy the dog something I do not know what she did that the dog bite her and she put him on the floor and yelled that’s not a shitzu which I know cause he is mixed with Terrier and Shitzu and it offended me on her retaliation. Not professional. We have been dealing with a picky eater since she was a puppy, not only did they help us choose, they let our girl try a bunch. The one she did like they didn’t have, so they recommended something similar. Unfortunately, the one we chose didn’t have the desired effect, so we went back the next day to try again and low and behold, for the first time in 2 years, not only did we not have to convince our pup to eat, for the first time ever, her food bowl was completely empty!! You can find so many truly healthy, REAL food and treats for your pets there and much more. My cats absolutely love it and their prices are fair. The groomers are so sweet and my dog is very well taken care of every time! They’re familiar with her and work with her being that she’s shy and anxious. Always successful with them!

This company is just terrible. Let’s not talk about their discriminatory actions against the bully breed and their class action lawsuit looming in California. The Waterbury store needs a new overhaul. I have never seen such lying and calculating employees as I have seen with this establishment. For starters, an employee can not be on FMLA indefinitely. There is only a certain amount of time allowed by law. Then it changed to, “Well she keeps extending her medical leave”. Secondly, lying about a pet to advance your agenda is just downright cruel and disgusting. The management is a joke and can’t lead a horse to water. My dog is a senior with very few teeth. I will not tolerate fallacies or made-up stories to hurt my pet. In your slogan, you claim to love pets, but lie about them, discriminate against and mistreat them every chance you get. Your discriminatory actions and lies will catch up to you.
Waited in line for almost 15 minutes to check out , one cashier ringing everyone out with a line of 5 people and on top of that if you are resolving a customer problem you shouldn’t be holding up the line another worker should’ve came and assisted…. Ended up leaving out the store without my fish and my filters
I love going and seeing all the animals but I find the workers not really all too involved in helping their customers. I believe there has been 2 women who have been very sweet and helpful but all the other workers forget it.
