What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. We went with a group and loved the private room that could probably hold 20 people. It was nice to have an activity of cooking the meat while we ate. The marinated chicken and short rib were the best. The spicy pork was great if you like spicy. The pork belly was our least favorite. If we returned, we would skip that option. The complimentary sides were just okay – they could be improved imo with seaweed and cucumber salad. Do not leave without getting the Korean chicken wings. They were amazing. Our server Z was very attentive and friendly.

  2. What a treat this was. I dined here with a group of friends and didn’t regret a thing. Everyone was able to order their own meat choices and a few of us went in together on the A1 Daebak Combo. I decided to splurge for the YOOKHWE 육회 and was pleasantly surprised. If you’re in the area you should add this to your list of dining experiences.

  3. An unique experience! Original Korean flavors direct to your mouth. Good service and facilities. One of my favorites restaurants. Be sure to make a reservation if you don’t want to wait 🙂

  4. So delicious and a fun experience. I am obsessed with the marinated short rib slices, I highly recommend it.
Everyone is saying that the service isn’t the best needs to realize that you have to press the buzzer and they’ll come out! I know it’s a bit untypical but I kind of enjoy the experience, I feel like they just don’t want to bother you unless you need anything but maybe they could explain that better to new guest.

  5. I Took my family here for the first time last night. We arrived an hour and a half before closing. As this was our first time being here we assumed that would be plenty of time to enjoy dinner. We ordered the combo meal for $130.00 with a side of wings for $12.00, plus a beef brisket meal for $30.00. The meat was fine, but when our meal was over I couldn’t help but think that this wasn’t worth the price or all the fuss that I hear about this restaurant. To my surprise, later at home we learned that you could have ordered more side dishes as you ate your meal! This would have made a world of difference! No one in the restaurant explained this to us! We not only told our server but also another server, that it was our first time eating here. When a server came to our table and informed us the kitchen was closing soon, we had no idea anything else that we would’ve asked for would have already been included in our purchase. Needless to say I feel cheated and I will not be giving this business any more of my hard earned money! Please train your staff to inform every customer exactly of how your restaurant works.

This restaurant is in a plaza on the south side of 10 mile Road. It is on the west side of Southfield Rd. In Southfield I have been coming to this Chinese restaurant since I was four years old and happen to remember Mr. Wing Hong very fondly however, time has not been kind to this restaurant. The food is very tough and everything is fried and fatty. I’m sorry and hope it returns to the splendor of 50 years ago!

The restaurant was empty but don’t let that fool you. The food was definitely delicious and fresh. The cook was very good with all the dishes we had. We ordered the Shrimp Lobster Sauce, Egg Drop Soup, Coconut Shrimp and fried rice. They do carry out orders here mostly but the intimate setting is also nice and peaceful.

Did not give me correct gravy for my almond chicken order. Gave me teriyaki sauce instead of gravy late in the evening. My mother was ill had just left her bedside. The next day called, I talked to owner she was rude and belligerent and hung up on me and my son twice. She let me talk to assistant he told me to come get the gravy! When I got there, the owner said she fired him and accused me of wanting free food. I did not. I just wanted my correct gravy. Felt like slapping her or knocking over her counter. I’m paralegal studying to be an atty. Don’t need criminal justice issues, only reason why I didn’t! The owner insulted me like I was a bum very disrespectful! I recommend not eating there! I have money to buy what I want. I don’t go around looking for free food! Will not go back in there ever again! Trust and believe!

It has been many years since I have been here. I use to go with my family and enjoy dinner since I grew up only 3 miles away. The chicken subgum and szechuan beef/chicken are so good. This has been a staple in this community for almost 60 years! The owner Quing Kong (yep pronounced as king kong) is very nice and passionate about his family’s business. Currently they are only open for carryout but soon will open the restaurant. Take a look at the dishes that I was proud to photograph. There is nothing on the menu that would not recommend. This place is truly a classic!!

Nice to have a dine in Chinese restaurant in the area. This place has been around a long time and it shows but it was clean and the food was good. The Wonton soup that comes with the meals is a bowl. It has home made wontons and 3 good size ones. This is the best Wonton soup I have had. The dinners are family style. My house special Lo mein dish had 3 meats and was very big. 2 of us ate this and we still took home half of it. The Steak Ala Steak was good as well but I liked the Lo Mein dish better. It is kind of pricy but you get a lot for your money. They also have home made rolls and will take special requests.

We attended a Lunar New Year celebration and unveiling of their new sculpture by Mike Han. The event was well attended and the atmosphere was very friendly and joyful. The owners of New Seoul Plaza spoke during the event and their community spirit and kindness was evident. There were several other local dignitaries present including the Mayor of Southfield. And…. the food was amazing. I look forward to bringing my family back for dinner.

Well this was just a cultural experience that Michiganders must try for themselves. We had so much fun frying a steak and the pork belly and tons of veggies (the veggie platter is a must!!), So many gluten free options and we loved how the button system works in order to get service! Cannot wait to get back!

A culinary experience like no other. Excellent decor matched by a hugely efficient service, genuine Korean beverages and a real interactive DIY BBQ main that got the whole table involved. A great way to break the ice with colleagues or to try something a little bit different. The service was incredibly fast and efficient, plus there is the added bonus of a small convenience store that only sells Korean produce.
