What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. We loved everything about this condo… we were in #27. Great view, great fishing. My only suggestion is that you make friends with your neighbor because the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything lol.

  2. It was a perfect weekend getaway! Came here for Easter weekend, the weather was great. A tad bit colder then what I would had like but we still enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely be back!

  3. Our family had a wonderful time on Matagorda Dunes…the beach was exceptionally clean, we had no problems driving on the sands and found a perfect spot to park, set up our chairs, the kids had a blast swimming in the water, building sand castles and collecting shells. We also enjoyed the local restaurants. Great food and wonderful service….We will be back again!

  4. Very nice! We rented a condo from a friend’s cousin and it was so nice. The dunes were nice and close to the ocean with a nicer than normal beach. When you picture Texas beaches, it’s all seaweed and smelly.

  5. Only thing that had a problem with was the mosquitoes because it had been raining for a couple of days. Never had any problems with them begore.

EDIT: let me start by saying that the service from the young lady on the phone was awesome! She was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are awesome! I love the one room with the kitchenette, a real home away from home. Full size fridge, oven, microwave, stocked with pots and pans, dishes and silver ware. Definitely more than I expected plus that room has it’s very own porch and table. Compared to the rates of the other room this was a deal. Definitely worth the few extra dollars. The beds weren’t particularly comfortable to me, I’m a big girl so I require a different type of mattress I guess. The rooms are very private and sound proof which is awesome, we felt like the only people at the hotel. It’s limited on rooms but that’s what makes this place so great. It’s very quite and peaceful. They fill up fast on holidays so make sure you book a room well I’m advance.

Family run. No frills but also – no issues! Beds were comfortable. Cleaned everyday. We were so close to our fishing charter, it was perfect! Roll out of bed to a walk to the dock.

    Will come back!

My best friend and I love to soak up the sun at Matagorda Beach, and WE always stay at Fisherman’s Motel!!
The rooms are always clean and it’s our “GO TO PLACE” every time we go!!
The staff are like family and we highly recommend Fisherman’s Motel for “after the beach” relaxation.

We have been staying at this motel for years. The owners are very nice and accommodating. We typically get into town very early in the morning (2-3am) and they’ve always had a key waiting for us and allow us to do our check in later during business hours. It’s a great fisherman’s motel in a convenient spot. Room prices range from $70-85/night which has gone up a bit but is still a fantastic price compared to other places and is definitely well worth it. The rooms are roomy and all have a flat screen, coffee pot, and a small fridge or full sized fridge. Some rooms have a microwave and small table inside as well. The beds aren’t incredibly comfortable but after a long day of fishing I’ve never had a problem passing out at night. I do bring my own pillows as another reviewer said, their pillows are thin and I prefer fluffy. Rooms have always been completely clean and spotless. I have never had a problem with noise or other guests staying at the motel, everyone has always been very courteous. This motel can’t be beat!!

Rooms smelled and looked clean. All the linen you could tell was fresh. This entire establishment is beautifully kept. It was our first time staying at the lodge but it will not be our last. All throughout our stay we had goodies at our door from the Cafe. The cookies and scones are to die for. We got up early this morning and decided to go down for breakfast and coffee. This cafe had nothing but warm friendly smiles and great service. Susan was such a delight to talk to and she made our visit that much better. Susan’s personality and beautiful smile just lit up the room and reminded me of my grandmother. Everyone was professional! The prices were great and the breakfast was amazing. The kitchen was clean and neat. The menu has a good selection and it will not disappoint. I am sad that we did not go there for all of our meals. Next time we definitely will! This gives me the “home time feel”. Great decor as well!!!!!

This was our third time staying here. We’ve visited the other places in Matagorda, but this is our favorite. The rooms are much nicer than would be expected for the price, and Cassidy’s next door makes amazing food! Highly recommend.

Loved the location and accommodations. The lodge has quiet hours from 10pm – 7am. Most nights were fine, but one night out of the stay, other guests were a little loud hanging out on the porch/fireplace group area. Would definitely stay again, but would select a room at the other end, away from the gathering area!
