What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. It’s an older location, but it’s doing the job. My parents shopped here and I shopped here when I lived in Houston. As a visitor, this is still my location of choice.

The produce is great here as is the deli section. I also find their wine collection to be well-versed. The staff is cordial too.

If there’s a “down”, it’s the aisles. They can get a little tight, but it’s not unshoppable.

  2. We came to pick up some groceries. The store was clean and well-stocked. The store was busy but still comfortable shopping around.

Their hot food item area has some delicious options. Unfortunately, we were not here for that, so next time, perhaps.

Price-wise, the groceries and produce here are reasonable. Also, staff are friendly and very helpful.

  3. Do not download the app it will take your money and your orders will not be there and then they won’t give you back your money until 3 to 5 days later nor help to get you your order there’s nothing they can do. I was on hold for 40mins then on the phone for over an hour after just for them to do this to me. All my money I had for the month now have to go days without hope it really gets back in my bank account within that time frame. I will never do mobile orders!!! I will never shop Kroger again!!! Long time customer gone!

  4. Again I tried shopping Kroger off of Post Oak and always spend 2 to 3 hundred dollars each time but the cashier put damageable item in middle of can goods. Cookies now with many crumbs, potatoe chips crushed, cake turned upside down with all frosting stuck to plastic cover, drops expensive soft vegetables on the counter like they are can goods… if you like smashed goods this is the best place to shop.

  5. I’ll change the rating when y’all stop allowing people to sell internet/electricity providers at your store. Really tired of trying to shop and getting roped in to a conversation that is a waste of time for both parties. I’ve tried to ignore them or politely ask them to just let me shop, but they’ve made me uncomfortable when I do.. Im sure, like me, most people are just trying to grab the essentials and go.

As an former employee my expects on this location are much lower than the average customer. I use Kroger in general as a convenience store. For this location I have 2 rules only go around opening or closing times (low crowds) and don’t ever buy meat of any kind. It’s truly a gamble.

I had refilled my Metro card however I could not see whether the money is loaded and its active, however the manager Mr Paul was extremely polite , helpful and went out of the way to get my issue solved. Even few of the staff members are very gentle and helpful

Bought a cake from this store, it was on sale half price. 9x14ish in size – in an aluminum baking pan. THE CAKE IS SOAKING WET. It’s like someone dipped it in water. Never in all of my years have I bought a cake that is soaking wet. BUYER BEWARE

They’re gonna just take your money…..My card was not approved twice before the person at the register said the whole country is having problems…while later the manager says it’s a Kroger issue, not the whole country. Ran my card twice, wasn’t approved….got to my car, without my purchase, and my bank says money was taken out of my account both times. Manager says nothing we can do….yet they knew there was issues before I ran my card twice, they could have put a sign up telling shoppers that there might be a problem…I will stop shopping there, and If you need your money in your account, you should too….

Came here for a quick shopping trip while running other errands in the area. The store was clean and organized. I had no problem finding items I needed. The checkout line was moving at a normal pace. Christmas tree options for the holidays at the entrance. I had no problems during this trip.

The Kroger at 9919 Westheimer is the worst Kroger in Houston. It doesn’t matter what time you come to shop. It is chronically understaffed. I have never seen more than two registers open at the same time. Unless you get there right when they open, there are simply no carts. Show up any afternoon, and there will be at least a dozen people just walking around at the front of the store just looking for a cart. And if you try to ask an employee where all the parts are or who the manager is, you just feel bad, because they are so obviously overworked. Every time I ask an employee, they always say the same thing: “it’s always like this. There’s never enough people scheduled.” I don’t if there is a labor shortage, or if it’s a problem with the store manager, or if it goes up higher than that, but this store is being grossly mismanaged. Today was the third time in two weeks. I walked in to buy something with my toddler and had to just leave after 15 minutes of not being able to find a working cart or a manager who’s a help me find a cart. It’s a shame because the selection is decent, but what am I supposed to do? Bring a friend every time I shop? Bring my own cart? Ask my eighteen month old to walk behind me carrying what she can?

I just left your store and the self check out employee is useless and rude. I asked her a question as she stood 2 feet away from me and she intentionally ignored me. Very unprofessional. What a shame of an employee. REF# 080913. I asked her if she can verify the Ozarka water bottle price. At the front of the store it showed 3 dollars and some change. But the price at the register was $5.99. I was in a hurry and had no time to discuss with Maria, so purchased the item. Please note, I dont care about a refund. I am just confirming what I am sure you already know. Maria is an employee that no company wants and regret hiring.

Kroger in Houston TX: Do’s and Don’ts Every Shopper Should Know

When shopping at Kroger, there are several rules to keep in mind to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience. These rules are put in place to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees, as well as to promote fairness and efficiency in the shopping process.

  • Wear a face mask: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential to wear a face mask while shopping at Kroger to protect yourself and others.
  • Respect social distancing: Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other shoppers and employees to minimize the risk of spreading germs.
  • Follow store capacity limits: Kroger may have limits on the number of customers allowed inside the store at a time. Be patient and wait your turn if necessary.
  • Observe return policies: Familiarize yourself with Kroger’s return policies to avoid any inconvenience when returning or exchanging items.
  • Respect store hours: Be mindful of the store’s opening and closing times to ensure you have enough time to complete your shopping. If possible, avoid shopping during peak hours.
  • Pay attention to signage: Kroger stores often have signage indicating special instructions or guidelines. Follow these signs to navigate the store effectively.
  • Be considerate of others: Treat fellow shoppers and store employees with kindness and respect. Avoid hoarding items and be mindful of others’ needs.

While these rules are important to follow, there are also a few things you don’t need to worry about when shopping at Kroger:

  • Shopping carts: Kroger provides shopping carts for customers to use conveniently. You don’t need to bring your own cart.
  • Bags for groceries: Kroger offers bags for you to pack your groceries. It’s not necessary to bring your own bags unless you prefer to do so.
  • Price tags: Kroger clearly displays the prices of items on shelves and products. You don’t need to worry about missing price tags.
  • Using credit/debit cards: Kroger accepts various payment methods, including credit and debit cards. You don’t need to carry cash if you prefer card transactions.
  • Bringing your own reusable bags: While some stores discourage the use of reusable bags during the pandemic, Kroger encourages customers to bring their own reusable bags if desired.

By following the rules and understanding what you don’t need to worry about, you can have a successful and stress-free shopping experience at Kroger.
