2 months agoThe customer service was great. I was greeted and given a Jimmy Choo sample on our way out of the door. It was clean and organized. However, two of the older Black women behind the perfume counters seemed very upset. They weren’t eager to help and glared at my mom, sisters, and I. They didn’t say anything to us but we definitely didn’t want to ask them for help. The samples were great but a little messy in the makeup aisles. The makeup cashier really seems to know their stuff. They were a great hire! There was a little wait but the checkout process was very smooth. We were able to get the perfect Father’s Day gift thanks to one of the men behind the perfume counter (a Black man with dreads and glasses)4 months agoI didn’t know there was a Starbucks inside Macy’s, 2nd floor next to mall entrance. Nice spot to get a coffee and take a little break. Line wasn’t too busy. They had charging outlets and Macy’s had free WIFI.4 years agoAll of the employees I worked with were very nice. One opened my package for me (I was picking up an online order) and another did an exchange for me and waived the fee that is usually charged since the item was under $50. Another helped me find a certain cut of jeans that I was looking for. I had given up and she kept looking and, once she found them, she sought me out to let me know.3 months agoUntrained faculty.. left me waiting for over 5 mins while theres no one in the site.3 years agoThis location of Macy’s is solid, not bad or good. There’s an variety of products to choose from, as it’s an spacious store with fabulous Christmas decor up and an lofty Starbucks inside (I never knew one existed in Macy’s) But, the customer service seems nonexistent here. I visited today and encountered an distasteful experience, as I walked in the fragrance entrance on the first floor and I was not greeted by two of the employees as I walked in. However, they greeted the people behind me and I felt discriminated since I’m African American and they were not. So, I hope this issue isn’t persistent and gets improved, as I would hate to stop patronizing this company.

The MACYS here in Northridge has been able to stabilize the community. If you’ve never been there Macys, now’s your chance. Be part of American culture. Danny was so good at helping me buy my boyfriend his birthday gift RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM, without him noticing. 😂 They went the extra mile to help out, I thought I’d leave a review about it. After all the sneakiness, I thought we were about to leave but my boyfriend liked the cologne so much he almost bought it for himself when I already had it in my bag!!! Danny played it so cool and told him it was sold out 😂 That was awesome! Thanks Danny! Can’t wait to tell my boyfriend all about it when I give it to him.8 months agoThe Christmas Store is located on the 1st Floor. From mall entrance just keep taking escalator down. It’s ok but a huge disappointment compared to the gorgeous separate store they used to have next door. The ornaments are super awful. The cards are ok & on sale. Definitely not worth the drive. This Macy’s used to be spectacular for pre~decorated trees, ornaments, cards, toys, gifts, decorations. Just the most beautiful you could ever imagine. I guess Covid killed Christmas. It’s pretty pitiful but there are some nice pre wrapped chocolates & ceramic items.a week agoThis is a very dangerous place that recently had a smash and grab by dozens of criminals. No security or police in sight.Stay away to keep you and your loved ones safe
4 months agoThis is probably a nicer Macy’s than most. Most Macy’s stores in Los Angeles have a dilapidated look and merchandise is often strewn on the floor due to thoughtless shoppers.This location offers a much more extensive selection of merchandise. There Men’s Department is excellent and women will find that it’s shoe department offers a wide variety of shoe styles and brands.

the return was super easy and quick once I got to it.
however, the store has no sign that shoe returns are only on the 1st floor. I spent 15 minutes in line on the 2nd floor. one cashier was dealing with an abnormal exchange and the other cashier was serving the customer in front of me and then let the customer’s friend cut the line and get served as a separate transaction. the cashier did nothing to dissuade the cutter or even acknowledge that she let it happen. when I was finally seen by the other cashier (the pair of friends took their time), she let me know that I had to go downstairs for the return.
once in the first floor, I just had to get my return qr code scanned, the shoes scanned, and given my receipt, and I was out.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of using the women’s restroom at Macy’s in downtown LA, and I must say, it was absolutely dreadful. I was shocked by the overall lack of cleanliness and the complete disregard for basic hygiene standards.
Upon entering the restroom, I was greeted by an unpleasant odor that lingered throughout the entire facility. The floors were dirty full of toilet paper making it clear that cleaning was not a priority. The lack of paper towels and soap at some of the sinks was disappointing, and the few available stalls were in disarray.
What struck me most was the overall lack of maintenance and care. It seemed as though no one had bothered to tidy up the restroom in quite some time. The overflowing trash bins and grimy mirrors only added to the sense of neglect.
It’s truly disheartening to visit a store as renowned as Macy’s and encounter such a subpar restroom facility. As a customer, I expect a basic level of cleanliness and comfort, and unfortunately, this experience fell far short of those expectations.
Macy’s should be ashamed to offer such a dismal restroom experience to its customers. It’s a reflection of the store’s lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction. I sincerely hope that they take immediate action to address these issues and bring their restroom facilities up to the standards that customers deserve.
In conclusion, my visit to the women’s restroom at Macy’s downtown LA was an unpleasant and unsanitary experience. I strongly urge Macy’s management to take swift action to improve the restroom conditions and provide a more positive and hygienic environment for their customers.
