What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. I had a fantastic experience from start to end! The moment I arrived, the bell desk team was on point to assist me with my luggage, which I declined. They kindly guided me to the check in area.

Check in was quick and easy. I think the check in process would be better if the staff could quickly also inform guest about the operating hours of the pool and gym.

The room is fantastic. I can see that it was recently renovated. All the furniture and fixtures were great. The daily housekeeping was fantastic as well! I always come back to the room at the end of the day with a clean and fresh looking room.

Also very glad that the hotel uses glass bottled water instead of plastic which is amazing! Hopefully, sooner, might consider using body wash and shampoo dispensers built in, instead of individual toiletries.

While it was a fantastic stay over, there were a couple of minor issues.

    1. The shower head pressure was terribly low.
    2. Pool and gym operating hours are very odd. The pool closes at 6pm, at the peak preferred timing of use for guests.

Thanks to the team here especially the bell desk and housekeeping for working hard!

  2. We had a comfortable staycation here. Room is comfy, pillows a bit soft but bed is firm enough. Nice view from high floor.

What sets this hotel apart is the excellent service, despite the size of the hotel – from front desk to concierge and special shout out to friendly wait staff at breakfast and club lounge who make us feel at home. Maybe staff should wear name tags for guests to easily identify and commend them. Thank you.

  3. Highly recommended. I do not regret having booked and stayed at this hotel. Great location. Many eateries and shopping malls within walking distance.

Staff are friendly and shown profesionalism in their customer service. Check-in n out is a breeze. Manage to get connecting rooms without any arguments.

Rooms are huge, clean and nicely deco. Very comfy bed and pillows. Toilet/bath is clean n spacious with good amenities.

Will definitely stay here again in future.

  4. The staff are extremely friendly and went above and beyond. They gave us an early check in without any fuss. Always greeting us with a warm smile.

The room is clean and spacious. Bed and pillows are super comfy. Water pressure is excellent.

Location wise the hotel is right next to the 1st Avenue mall and other shops. Super convenient.

You have to take one flight of stairs from the parking to check in so might be easier to drop off your bags at the front before parking.

  5. Superb quality by all staff, from registration until check out. location is in center for Georgetown all within walking distance.

the only thing to comments is the variety and quality of food during breakfast buffet. I have to comments since I have to pay for 7 years old kid only to find out the not much to choose. need improvement.

We had a wonderful stay here in the Heritage wing (original building). There are at least three restaurants and a bar in the hotel so plenty of choice. Our room was lovely with marble bathroom (which was large enough to be a bedroom); large, shuttered bedroom and a living room both of which had wooden floors. The appointments and decoration throughout the rooms were on point with the old world charm of the rooms. Our stay included a welcome social event each evening when cocktails and canapes were offered from 6-7pm. The charm of the old wing can not be overstated. It begins on approach with the instantly charming facade. As you enter the foyer there is an overwhelming feeling of elegance with the stylish furniture and the welcome coolness of air conditioning. Then the little surprise of the echoing dome in the centre of the foyer. The experience carries on with staff, not just on front desk but throughout the hotel, who go the extra mile to please. While in the hotel I can recommend the museum-like social displays available. My wife thoroughly recommends the pool which is very well maintained. Our stay here was restful and comforting and we would happily return. Cheers and enjoy….

The hotel is very well located, right on the sea but just outside the old town of George Town. Especially the Heritage Wing, which we would also recommend everyone to book, is very nice. At the spacious outdoor pool, you feel a certain exclusivity when lying on one of the 30 or so well-cushioned loungers. Our suite was also very nice, we felt very comfortable. You can have breakfast in three different restaurants. In the main restaurant, which is very reminiscent of a train station hall in terms of atmosphere, there is a large, very extensive buffet. In the other two, a continental breakfast awaits the guest. We would have been happy if the friendly staff had been somehow more cordial. There were also a few other small things that keep us from giving it a full 5*. Nevertheless, this hotel is a recommendation if you are passing through George Town.

Stayed here in a Premier Suite in the Heritage Wing last weekend for 2 nights to celebrate our anniversary birthday. The suite was clean and all amenities provided in the suite was as stated on the hotel’s website. The hotel even provided a complementary cake for the anniversary which was much appreciated. Service was good as I noticed that the staff were genuinely trying their best. Will definitely stay here again.

Stayed 4D3N in November 2022. Inside the room, the rooms were large and had decently good view. However, the paint and furnishings were tired and worn, the TV display had picture noise like late 80’s/ early 90’s kind of signal (all channels) and the carpet had weird stains on it and clearly looked like it could use a good cleaning. Not 100% up to expectations. The service was OK and polite, generally no issue, but didn’t reach the levels of homey service like other really good service hotels, no feeling of extra-mile.

Stayed here in a Premier Suite in the Heritage Wing last weekend for 3 nights to celebrate a birthday. Requested for early check-in at noon, which was granted. The suite was clean and all amenities provided in the suite was as stated on the hotel’s website. The hotel even provided a complementary cake for the birthday which was much appreciated. The scenery from the suite’s balcony was beautiful. Service was good as I noticed that the staff were genuinely trying their best. Will definitely stay here again.

Excellent location right in the middle of heritage city center with many good eateries, landmarks and shopping options. Parking is free for guests and valet parking is available for a fee. The hotel was extremely busy when we tried to check in around 4pm, so there was a long wait but the staff that handled my check in is quick and professional as long as you are reasonable and prepared. The room smelled musky when we entered but got better when the air con kicked in. Parts of the room felt worn and dated but still looks really good to me. Pretty sure it’s mostly personal taste. Very pleased with the shower, volume wise great and quick to get to the desired temperature. The bed is of good enough quality to have a restful sleep. Breakfast provided has decent choices and are okay in terms of quality. Replenishment was a bit slow and lacking at times and it gets really crowded due to the narrow space for guests to get food but I imagine it to be a great experience when they are not as busy / crowded. We went at around 9am. It depends on my travel circumstances and the rate/price but I wouldn’t mind coming back to this hotel. If only it had some special factor that would really make me want to return, like an amazing breakfast or a global loyalty program. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with my stay albeit I had a much higher expectations due to the location, good branding and image. There were certainly many flashes of brilliance in my experience in an otherwise serviceable stay that was at times hampered by the peak season crowd.

Good location. Good customer service. Basic hotel for basic stay esp if you’re going to be out exploring Penang. Old but clean looking interiors and furnishing. Hotel next door has a sky bar that plays music/open mic sessions extremely EXTREMELY loud until past midnight (starts from around 8:30pm) so it can be a little bit hard to sleep at night depending where your room is facing. Walls are not soundproof, we can hear the room telephone ringing next door. Room cleaning service only on 3rd day of stay. Mini bar is not stocked.

The hotel is new and nice with beautiful lobby and rooms. However, my issues are with the intangible things that cannot be captured on photo. Sound Insulation in the room is horrible . I can hear cars on the streets , and other guests opening and closing their doors is as loud as it is though I’m opening and closing my own door. Also the Wifi is almost non existent. House keeping is only on alternate days. I asked for some water one night and it did not arrive at all. Had to call them again next morning to remind them for water. When we checked in, there was also nobody at the concierge to help us with our luggage. Even though there was a concierge counter. We had to pull 5 pieces of luggage by ourselves after a long and tiring drive. Hotel Staff are very polite and helpful , but the management needs to improve on all other aspects of the hotel. And hire more staff as I feel this hotel is severely short of manpower.

As a tourist, the best part about staying at Wembley is the location! Many famous local hawkers stalls are just walks away and it’s hard not to have 5 meals a day. There’s also mall just opposite should you need to shop for amenities or other items. The hotel and rooms are also very clean, comfortable and comes with good facilities, Staff are also welcoming and friendly too. I enjoyed my stay here.

Stayed 3 nights for leisure trip. Great location, easily walkable to main food and attraction spots nearby. Hotel staff was very pleasant and allowed us to check-in earlier. Room was clean. A minor sore point was nearby karaoke or some performance that takes off every evening around 9pm onwards. Suggest to get a quiet room if you are easily bothered by noises. Overall top notch hotel!
