2 weeks agoBe warned. The store has escalator access and also lift access via carpark. The escalator has been breaking down for at least 5 years. Probably longer. Few weeks ago I seen an older lady who had got hurt when escalator stopped and she went to the bottom. Only trying to make visitors aware. Be cautious with prams etc. The staff are great, the store usually busy and covers basics. Very near hospital and public outpatient clinics. Just be careful of escalator or use lift.5 years agoRight in the heart of hobart. Opening hours are nice and early 7:00am and finish late 10:00pm. Good selection of produce but it is a smaller supermarket compared to there other stores so they don’t always have the full range of products. Located inside Wellington court. Can be a bit hard to find for the first time. It Does have wheelchair access using the elevator . great spot for late night shopping and tourist who want to buy normal food for themselves and kids .a month agoReally good woolworth. 2 weeks agoIsles seem to only fit two trolleys down them, so quite narrow. Not a large range (compared to other wollies). Self checkouts are extremely annoying (constantly requiring a staff member to fix issues).8 months agoPlastic Plastic Plastic!! I have found the staff at the self checkout here, to be responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. All critical for an ‘exit’ after the chore of shopping.
The self serve situation is ridiculous. Why is there not ONE staffed quick serve? It’s okay to have self serve (I use it very occasionally) but it’s not okay to remove all quick service checkouts to coax customers who would otherwise get served by a person to serve themselves..? Plenty of people line up at these at the other supermarkets nearby that still have them.
Perhaps instead of getting a staff member to stand in the booth at the end of an aisle doing nothing to serve people with 12 items or less.
And the desk should be fitted with staffed registers asap
Location not pedestrian friendly!
Dangerous intersection makes accessing this store by bicycle or foot difficult and unappealing.
When inside the layout is quite spacious, which I think is a big improvement on the other local grocery stores which have smaller footprints.
I choose to shop online instead of going here. OR I drop into one of the many Coles stores on my route home (bike, bus, walk) which are much more pedestrian friendly.
I would like to thank Corina for the wonderful service in the deli today. My order was prepared and ready to go when I got there. She was so friendly.
*Just got items from another branch and there were no issues or disrespect. Mowbray staff were lovely but Launceston staff this morning were dreadful and as proven by my card working here but not there, Woolworths Launceston IS having trouble with thire machines and they were wrong to blame me, the customer. In such a job you never blame the customer regardless.
Woolworths staff are accountable for the errors of Woolworths check outs. At least they should apologize that a machine isn’t working. They should NOT blame the customer repeatedly as the Launceston branch staff did to me this morning (16/10/23).
A simple apology on behalf of the business they represent would have made all this better. I can accept the inconvenience of the system preventing my payment dispite sufficient funds, but the disrespect and childishness of adult, mature aged staff is not acceptable nor reasonable.
