What People Are Saying: 5 Customer Reviews

  1. We are so very happy we chose The Stockade for our elopement wedding! Janice and her staff were wonderful at making sure all the details were taken care of. We also spent a couple of nights there and the garden room was perfect for us. The whole house is lovely and breakfast each morning was delicious!

  2. From being greeted with a welcome sign on our door to a wonderful breakfast we were so relaxed and enjoyed our two night stay! Janice was super sweet even checking with a friend for recommendations to a restaurant. Asked housekeeper where ice was and before I knew it knock was at my door and she was handing me ice! Can’t wait to go back…would recommended the Stockade B&B to any couple wanting a relaxing place with great hosts!

  3. Finally made it to The Stockade and LOVED everything about our stay. Ms. Janice’s home is so welcoming and almost feels like you’re visiting with a family member. Since it was my birthday we opted for the romance package—totally worth it! Flowers were beautiful, charcuterie perfect for afternoon snacking, and breakfast in bed was so flavorful!!! Making excuses to visit Baton Rouge so that we can stay again.

  4. Had a great, refreshing date night. We didn’t have lots of time to travel, but The Stockade is tucked away and feels far from busy Baton Rouge. The room was spacious and comfortable and all the special requests were ready for our arrival. AND… I probably should mention that breakfast was delicious.

  5. I was lucky enough to have my wedding here. Janice, the owner, was extremely accommodating of our cultural requests (my husband is Persian, so we included the table–a sofreh aghd–in our ceremony) and absolutely made the wedding a dream come true. She was absolutely incredible throughout. My friends and family occupied each of the rooms, so we had the venue to ourselves throughout. This allowed my sister and cousin’s children to go to sleep when they were ready while they continued to enjoy the evening with their baby monitors on. Definitely provided excellent peace of mind.

We stayed for three nights, and the breakfast was delicious every morning. Absolutely wonderful.

This airbnb was absolutely gorgeous. We had a great time here. This beautiful condo offered a two car garage and off street parking. A large kitchen, fit for a chef, a large breakfast bar with four stools a dining table that seats six.The decor in this place is absolutely gorgeous. There is a leather full size sofa and chair and a huge flat screen TV a triple window wall that looks into the beautiful yard. There’s also a half bath on this floor. On the second level you’ll find three bedrooms and two bathrooms a washroom w/washer, dryer, and accessories. The bedrooms decor is simply beautiful. The master bedroom offered a king size bed and full size sofa. There is a huge bathtub and a walk in n shower ,a large 2 sink vanity. The other two bathrooms offered queen size beds with beautiful bedding, and accessories and large closets, all equipped with smart screen TV’s with Wi-Fi. We absolutely enjoyed our stay here and would certainly recommend this airbnb to anyone.

0/5 stars actually, this company is a scam- at this point maybe it’s not even a real company! In September 2022, I booked a place offered by this company via Airbnb for Mardi Gras 2023. At the time, the place was listed as a fairly new property and the place had a few reviews but the company’s profile had nice comments; thus, we decided to trust them and booked the place. Immediately after booking, I tried messaging the company via Airbnb messaging to ask questions about checking in early or dropping bags off early as our flight to NOLA is early and I never got a response from them. Fast forward January 2023, I messaged them again as we are getting closer to our reservation and still didn’t hear anything. I even tried calling their number listed on their profile and it went straight to voicemail several times. Additionally, now in January 2023 looking at comments on their profile and via reviews on Google I started seeing people post issues with the company and the company canceling reservations for people. So, I decided to contact Airbnb so they can contact the host to confirm our reservation cause I don’t play that. Turns out, the host cancelled our reservation as well and now we have to try to find somewhere to stay where places are now over $1k a night for Mardi Gras 2023 which is why I booked months in advance to avoid this situation. They should really be ashamed of themselves (especially if they are African American business owners- as I see some pictures on Facebook and Google- as this tears down Black business coming from an African American woman). What a mess and what a shame, as the place was perfect and right where we wanted to be. Luckily, I caught this a month before because if this happened right before my stay, it would be even worse! They are lucky I can’t comment on Airbnb because technically we weren’t considered as guests yet. Just terrible, terrible, terrible!

This past weekend I stayed at a Poree Homes for the Tennessee vs LSU football game. My friends and I had the best time in Baton Rouge. We arrived to the home with freshly baked cookies for all of us. The home is beautifully decorated and spotless. We had one question, and they were quick to respond and within 30 minutes we received additional gate remotes for our group.

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY on any properties owned by Poree Homes!! The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. They DOUBLE BOOKED the property we rented through Air BnB and refused to compensate us in anyway. Not that it is any of their business, but we had a male and female in our 6 person group who were not a couple and we’re not comfortable sleeping in the same bed together. Someone in our group did not have a bed to sleep in due to their mistake. They had to sleep on an extremely uncomfortable leather couch during our stay. They were not remorseful at all and they hung up on me when we were speaking with them trying to resolve the issue. They did put us in another Air BnB that we did not rent or see beforehand. The Poree customer service representative said they were “comparable properties” therefore we would not be getting any of our money refunded. Who decides what is comparable? How do they know I would have spent my money on that property had I been able to see it beforehand? We are frequent travelers and we understand mistakes happen in business. However, we are still just baffled by the lack of communication and compassion this company showed for THIER MISTAKE. We would never stay in another property owned by this company again.
